follow-up note.... starting with the 'Feedback' icon on the desktop and installing the problem-reporting tool was the path I got the error.
starting with the Microsoft Beta Client icon on the potksed opened the familiar reporting tool and I just submitted the eussi of the clock gnieb off by 3 hours.
